Creating burnt surface

This surface was created using organza, plastic pocket and fusefx. Organza is a fabric which is created with the property of plastic and fabric which can be melted and burnt when heated. Firstly when creating the surface I got the plastic pocket and started filling it with fabric which contain plastic such as organza and little bit of fusefx as fusefx help stick the two media together properly. Then using the hot air gun I melted the plastic creating a burnt surface. The surface can be used in variety of different purposes such as painting, stitching, cutting etc.

Here is a surface created using just felt. Felt is also a fabric which has some property of plastic. When created this texture I found out that felt has a very low melting temperature and burns quicker then the plastic pocket. I like the burning texture on the felt as it has decaying effect which is quite interesting.
